“Consumer Reports” looked at the healthiest option at three big sandwich spots: Chick-fil-A, Panera Bread, and Jersey Mike’s. They wanted to see what people thought the healthiest option was, and what it REALLY is.
Chick-fil-A: People think it’s their Cool Wrap because of the word “wrap.” But it’s actually their Grilled Chicken Sandwich. It’s got half the salt and less saturated fat. Both are healthier than their fried sandwiches though.
Panera: People think it’s the Toasted Garden Caprese sandwich because it’s vegetarian. But it’s got a lot of mozzarella cheese. Their Tuna Salad Sandwich has less saturated fat.
Jersey Mike’s: You expect it to be their #14 Veggie. But it’s their Grilled Portabella & Swiss. It’s got a third less calories, way less salt, and half the saturated fat.
(No love for Subway, even though they have four times more locations than those other three combined. Their healthiest might be the Veggie Delite.)
