The Super Bowl is still two weeks away, but it’s never too early to start planning, your bathroom breaks. (???)
If you’re having a Super Bowl party, you can’t really PAUSE the game to hit the restroom, and even the game-breaks can be rough, if you don’t want to miss the commercials. (Although they’ve been LESS fun in recent years.)
So a new survey asked people for the best and worst times to leave the room
The top answer was: Right before the halftime show, 27% said that’s the best time to go to the bathroom. Another 27% said you should go during the halftime show, but 25% said that’s one of the WORST times. (It depends what your priorities are. Kendrick Lamar and SZA are performing this year.)
Here’s the rest of the ranking:
1. During kickoff, 19% say it’s a good time, 25% say it’s a bad time.
2. During 1st Quarter commercial breaks, 19% good time, 6% bad time.
3. During 2nd Quarter commercial breaks, 15% good time, 5% bad time.
4. After the broadcast has ended, 13% good time, 3% bad time. (???)
5. Right after the halftime show, 12% good time, 4% bad time.
6. During 3rd Quarter commercial breaks, 9% good time, 3% bad time.
Then, 4% to 7% of people think it’s okay to miss a few plays in the first and second quarters, if needed, or they try to go IN BETWEEN plays if possible.
And about the same percentage think it’s cool to skip out on the post-game celebrations and interviews.
The times when VERY FEW people are willing to step away are during the third and fourth quarters, especially in the final two minutes of the game, as well as overtime, if there is one. (You can see the full chart, here.)
