Here are a few things to look forward to in December.
1. In sports: College football’s bowl games start the 14th. There’s also lots of NFL and NHL action. And the second annual NBA Cup tournament runs through December 17th.
2. In theaters: “Sonic the Hedgehog 3” and the live-action prequel “Mufasa: The Lion King” both open December 20th. And on Christmas Day, “Nosferatu” with Bill Skarsgard and Lily Rose-Depp, “Babygirl” with Nicole Kidman, and Timothée Chalamet plays Bob Dylan in “A Complete Unknown”.
3. On TV: Lots of holiday specials, including the “National Christmas Tree Lighting” December 20th. Plus, Jamie Foxx’s new stand-up special hits Netflix next Tuesday, the Billboard Music Awards are next Thursday, the “iHeartRadio Jingle Ball” airs the 18th, Nate Bargatze’s new stand-up special hits Netflix the 24th, and season two of “Squid Game” lands the 26th.
4. And finally, the holidays: The big ones are Christmas, Hanukkah, which starts on Christmas this year, and Kwanzaa starts December 26th.
There’s also Giving Tuesday tomorrow, National Ice Cream Day on the 13th, Ugly Sweater Day on the 15th, Answer the Phone Like Buddy the Elf Day on the 18th, the first day of winter is December 21st, Festivus is the 23rd, and the 31st is New Year’s Eve, when we finally say “so long” to 2024.
