If you see a kid on the verge of tears this Easter season, they may have accidentally eaten a black jellybean, or maybe their parents refused to take out a second mortgage to buy eggs to dye.
And THIS won’t help the egg situation.
A semi-truck hauling 24,000 pounds of eggs burst into flames last Friday in Mokena, Illinois. Thankfully, no one was hurt.
But the eggs were a total loss, and at an average price of about $6.23 per carton, that’s approximately $114,000 worth of eggs. Which isn’t great.
On top of that, the truck’s trailer was completely destroyed.
It’s unclear what caused the blaze, but the driver says he “heard a noise coming from the truck” before the fire broke out.
