Almost everyone types text abbreviations and slang. But it’s awkward in the rare cases when you speak or read them aloud.
Does anyone NOT think it sounds weird to say “LOL”? (And is it “L-O-L”, “Lawl”, or “Lohl”?)
A silly poll online asked people, “How do you read ‘LMAO’?”
30% of people read it by saying the letters, “L-M-A-O.”
9% of people read it by saying the words it stands for, so in this case, “Laughing My A** Off.
And get this: 54% of people read it as “Lemau.” (???) (So they’re reading it as if it’s a WORD. Have you EVER heard anyone say it like this?)
Others claim they say it like “le mayo” or “la mayo”, or “le meow.” (???)
