First, it was the Gulf of Mexico, and now Flag Day might get a new name.
Congresswoman Claudia Tenney out of New York has proposed a new bill, which would make President Trump’s birthday a federal holiday. Trump was born on June 14th, and this year he’ll be 79.
There’s just one problem. June 14th is already Flag Day, which isn’t an official federal holiday, just an observance. Tenney says the holiday could be re-named “Trump’s Birthday and Flag Day,” to recognize Trump as “the founder of ‘America’s Golden Age.'” (Okay. So do I get that day off work?)
Just as George Washington’s birthday is codified as a federal holiday, President Trump’s birthday should also be celebrated to recognize him as the founder of America’s Golden Age.
That’s why I introduced legislation to make President Trump’s birthday a federal holiday.
