There’s no recipe for the PERFECT first date, but what if I told you I could offer these three ingredients: Speed dating, the Daytona 500, and Busch Light beer. (???)
Busch Light has just announced a contest called “Date-Tona” where EIGHT “lucky” single people will get the chance to go on a date at the Daytona 500.
Basically, you’ll get to “speed date” while you’re being driven one lap around the track by a trained driver. This isn’t DURING the Daytona 500 of course, it’s a few days before the event, but they are throwing in tickets to the race as well.
They’ll pay for the airfare and hotel stay for the dating thing, but you’ll have to cover your accommodations to stay for the race a few days later.
If this seems up your alley, you can apply online at Busch.com/DateTona. They’re asking you to provide some basic information, along with a brief pitch for yourself, which can’t be more than 255 characters.
The deadline is January 21st, so you have two weeks to send in a submission. The speed dating will happen February 12th, two days before Valentine’s Day. (The Daytona 500 is that Sunday, February 16th.)
For what it’s worth, the finalists WILL have to go through a background check, so if you have anything gnarly in your past, you don’t need to bother. (???)
