Stupid Criminals: Jewelry Thieves Were Caught Trying to Escape On Foot, by Car, and by Rowboat?

You’ve probably seen an ELABORATE criminal escape in a movie, and thought, “This could never happen in real life.”

Deputies in Washington state have arrested a man and a woman who were accused of stealing thousands of dollars in jewelry, and then trying to escape on foot, by car, and by rowboat.  (So, they were caught before trying a flight?   Or hopping onto a freight train?)

It started on Tuesday morning, when police were called about a burglary from a shipping container.  The thieves had stolen $11,000 in jewelry, and were fleeing the area in an SUV.

They crashed the SUV, in a ROLL-OVER accident, and then the two ran off, before stealing a rowboat on a bay.  They were using plywood and an oar to propel it, but it started taking on water.

So, they jumped in the water, and swam to the shore, but the cops were there to arrest them.  Police haven’t said if the stolen jewelry was recovered.
