Five Random Facts for Wednesday

Here are some random facts for you.

1.  Every element heavier than lithium had to be created in the core of a star.  Every element heavier than iron had to be created by a supernova.

2.  Oregon is the only U.S. state with a flag that’s different on both sides.  One side says “State of Oregon, 1859” and has the state seal, the other side shows a beaver chewing a log.

3.  There are four presidents who didn’t have a vice president:  John Tyler, Millard Fillmore, Andrew Johnson, and Chester A. Arthur.  All four of them were VPs under a president who died in office, and there was nothing in the Constitution about how to pick a new vice president.

4.  A 7-foot-tall man in the U.S. has a 1 in 7 shot of making it to the NBA, a man under six feet has a 1 in 1.2 million shot.

5.  “SOS” by ABBA is the only Top 40 song ever where the song title AND the artist are both palindromes.
