Good News: Off Days, Volunteers, and a Big Slice of Pizza Love

Here are a few more Good News stories making the rounds . . .

1.  A guy in Missouri got called into work on his day off, stopped for gas and bought a lottery ticket, and won a MILLION BUCKS.

He scratched it off at his desk later that day.  He thought he was seeing things, so he called his wife in to confirm it was real.

2.  Giving back is good for you:  A new poll found volunteering boosts our mental health.  48% of people who’ve done it recently say it made them feel happier, and 33% said it made them feel less stressed.  So be selfish, give back.

3.  The owner of a Brooklyn pizzeria is in the news after helping a customer get a new kidney.  The place is Lucali (loo-KAH-lee).  The owner’s name is Mark Iacano.   Someone who frequents the place had end-stage kidney failure, so Mark blasted it out to his 245,000 Instagram followers.

The person who needed the kidney also managed to get Jessica Alba to post about it.  But it was Mark who found the donor.  Another longtime customer stepped up to help.  The surgery was in August, and they’re both doing great.
