Timothée Chalamet stars as inventor Willy Wonka in the latest trailer for Wonka, determined to transform humanity one chocolate at a time. Chalamet, playing the titular chocolatier, declares in the trailer “I guess it’s time to change the world!” Warner Bros. has described the prequel as a “vivid, mythical beginnings of the imaginative young inventor before he becomes the renowned scrumdiddlyumptious Mozart of chocolate.”

The upcoming prequel film from Paul King takes place before the events of Roald Dahl’s popular children’s book Willy Wonka and the Chocolate Factory.  Chalamet plays a young Willy Wonka, facing off against a chocolate cartel that wants to keep him from practicing his craft. Hugh Grant’s Oompa Loompa character tells Wonka at one point: “You should stand up to those bullies, give ‘em the ol one-two.”

Wonka also stars Calah Lane, Natasha Rothwell, Keegan-Michael Key, Paterson Joseph, Matt Lucas, Rowan Atkinson and Oscar winner Olivia Colman, and is based on a story by King, from characters created by Dahl.

Wonka will arrive in theaters internationally starting on December 6, followed by its U.S. debut on December 15; take a look at the trailer – here.
